BRISBANE AIRPORT IS KEEPING THESE FREE
Brisbane Powerhouse presents a diverse and much loved free program which includes comedy, visual arts and various genres of music. Thanks to the generous support of Brisbane Airport, this program remains free and is therefore more accessible to the people of our city. The partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse reflects Brisbane Airport’s willingness to support local community and its recognition of the role that arts and culture play in bringing communities together. Our two organisations are striving to bring the best of Brisbane and the world to our local and visiting communities.
The free visual arts program presents and promotes the finest available Australian and international media arts (photography, projection and sound art.) It aims to foster discussion about the world we live in and encourage a greater understanding of the human condition through quality documentary photography and photojournalism. The works are often complemented by artist talks and forums, to enhance community engagement with the works.

Many locals love to spend their Sunday afternoons at Live Spark, taking in some of the best Indy pop/rock talent from Brisbane and beyond. Live Spark alumni includes stars such as Washington, the John Steel Singers, Seja, Disco Nap and Adele and Glenn (the Go-Betweens).
Livewired is Brisbane Powerhouse’s popular free comedy program, which was originally curated by Josh Thomas and is now handled by Tom Ward. Held every Sunday evening, the event rounds out the weekend program with a fresh mix of local, interstate and international comedians.
