Andrew Morris: Little by Little Album Relaunch
Sat 10 Apr 2010
Brisbane troubadour Andrew Morris is to relaunch his debut album ‘Little By Little’ at the Visy Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse on Saturday April 10.
The 2004 album received rave reviews across the country on its release, and the subsequent touring has made Andrew a permanent fixture on the national live scene. Since the release of ‘Little By Little’, Andrew has produced 3 more critically acclaimed solo albums, and is a member of rising roots act The Wilson Pickers, whose debut album received a 2009 Aria Award nomination. ‘Little By Little’ hasn’t been available on I-tunes up until now, so to celebrate the occasion Andrew is reforming the original band that performed on the album. Featuring a swag of Andrew’s most talented friends, including album co-producer Bernard Fanning, fellow Wilson Picker Danny Widdcombe, Dave Gilbert, Bec Innes, Caterina Senese and The Gallagher Brothers. All members will be performing on the night at this special one off occasion.
‘A very raw and stripped back release, Little By Little is the kind of album which draws you in with the simple things which make music great - catchy songwriting: smart melodical hooks and vocals which are uncluttered by superfluous layers upon layers of instruments’ Drum Media.
‘Inspired by his love of records like Neil Young's 'Harvest', Morris has written a stripped back acoustic record which is unfailingly excellent for the entirety of its duration, a collection of uncompromising country music so pristinely melancholy that it could induce tears of whiskey to pour forth from the corpse of Johnny Cash or cause the scattered remains of Gram Parsons to form mysterious patterns in the desert sky‘ Scene Magazine
'More Dylan than Dinosaur Jr, more Gillian Welch than Guided By Voices, Little By Little sees Morris in Sunday afternoon storytelling mode.' Time Off
