Set in NYC, this new film by Casper Andreas (A Four Letter Word) is about a fairy tale gay romance that runs off track when a troubled sister arrives on the scene.
Sometimes relationships have a “’til death do us part” ending, and sometimes it’s a bit more complicated. This is the story of two men who fall in love fast and hard and out of love even faster. For Kyle and Marcel, it’s love at first sight. Marcel is not a citizen, so they finagle him a sham marriage with their lesbian neighbour, Sarah. All is secure and happy until Kyle’s homeless sister April arrives.
Kyle and his sister start their old band back up, and April wants to get Marcel out of the picture. We discover that April is a transsexual hooker with a history of mental problems and a complete lack of cash. It’s when April decides she wants to change her gender back to male that things really get crazy.
Set on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Between Love & Goodbye has an authentic East Village flavour, a great score and a compellingly original story.
