The 8th Annual Brisbane Queer Film Festival
Brisbane Powerhouse presents
Cut Sleeve Boys
Mon 4 Jun 07
A hilarious and highly camp makeover of the British Chinese gay experience complete with witty one liners, an underground drag club and an all male production of the Miss Pacific Rim Beauty Pageant.
MEL and ASH are two British Chinese gay men who studied and drink lychee martinis together. After attending the funeral of Gavin, a closet case from their university days who dies while having gay sex in a toilet stall, Mel and Ash realise their impending sell-by dates. After all, how long can Mel sashay down the catwalk when his eye bags are bigger than his Gucci bags? And how will Ash find a real man when steroid bodies and the Atkin’s diet are the only offerings on the menu? They take action: Ash cross-dresses to find his dream man, while Mel embarks on an 'all you can eat' open relationship. The result: a quirky, romantic and sexy treat that resonates with every person’s quest to find true love.
