Brave New World Order
Wed 2 - Sat 5 Jun + Mon 7 - Sat 12 Jun 10
By Clarry Evans and Brett Heath
From the writer and producers of the record breaking Macbeth: the Contemporary Rock Opera comes Brave New World Order: A Serious Rock Comedy.
If you think Shakespeare’s Hamlet has nothing to do with the global financial crisis, see Brave New World Order and think again!
The play utilises the plot of Shakespeare’s Hamlet interlaced with rock songs (featuring the BNWO boy band) in order to depict the internal machinations of a multinational corporation, acting with the complicity of increasing malleable governments, intent upon pursuing Middle Eastern conflict for its own financial gain.
Whilst the topic appears to be polemical, the writers’ intent is to avoid preaching to, or alienating, their audiences by strident politicking. Rather, the intent of the piece is to entertain and to excite discussion.
“Congratulations to everyone involved. Brisbane should be as proud of this team as it is of the Broncos, Lions or Reds because BNWO is another Brisbane showpiece” John Algate, Stagediary
“On top of all the fun and games, BNWO provides serious food for thought on the way our world is heading” Brett Debritz, Sunday Mail
“BNWO is loaded with great ideas, appealing music and a remarkable cast” Courier Mail
“BNWO is a wonderful example of how Hamlet is relevant to contemporary global issues” Bruce Nash English Teacher, Nambour SHS
Warning: This performance is recommended for people aged 15yrs and older.
