WIN! Brisbane Jazz Festival Competition

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Brisbane Jazz Festival, a celebration of live and improvised music by some of the world’s most acclaimed jazz artists. From the USA to Finland, our city will welcome artists from far and wide, many fresh from recent performances at Wangaratta Jazz Festival.

This year’s festival is headlined by a string of almighty partnerships. Grammy award winning tenor saxophonist Joe Lovano and master jazz guitarist John Scofield reunite for the first time in 20 years. Legendary Australian pianist Mark Isaacs and Thirsty Merc’s Rai Thistlethwayte join forces to show what jazz piano can become. David Murray, considered the most dexterous and soulful living tenor saxophonist, performs with the Black Saints.

There’s also a strong local flavour with our city’s best artists taking the stage for a fine offering of free entertainment.

Contemporary compositions, cool classics, ethereal melodies, scintillating scats, Brazilian rhythms, bebop, swing and groove-induced tunes – experience the beauty of jazz.

Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse and Optus Business
Supported by JC Decaux, Korean Air, Map Magazine and OurBrisbane.com

Grammy Award winners, big-name internationals and Australia's best jazz talent.
