Dutch Landscapes, Home Views
Wed 17 Oct - Sun 18 Nov 07
Night visions of ghostly terrain. City parking lots. Sea spillage. Fermenting cloud formations on the horizon.
A stunning selection of imagery set amongst rural and urban landscapes in and around the city of Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands.
Six renowned Dutch photographers present photographs culled from three Noorderlicht commissions: Promised Land, Hidden Sites, and Island. Each respectively explores the undercurrent of city-life in Groningen, the last traces of centuries-old ‘borgen’ (farm-castles) and churchyards, and the life, light and landscape of Schiermonnikoog, the smallest inhabited Dutch Wadden Sea island, on the Groningen-coast.
Photographers: Machiel Botman, Ton Broekhuis, Leo Divendal, Adrienne van Eekelen, Gerco de Ruijter and Marco Wiegers.
