Gerard Masters Trio

Masters’ touch on piano is absolutely silken and this subtle, calm approach to the music is well matched by his collaborators.

Led by New Zealand born Gerard Masters, and featuring Cameron Undy on bass and Evan Mannell on drums, the trio has released three albums of original music on Sydney label ‘Jazzgroove Records’.

They have been performing together since 2000 and have quickly developed into one of Australia’s finest modern jazz groups with their music ranging from high energy post-bop to intricate ballad and free playing, drawing on elements from rock, avant-garde, blues and electronica.

It has been a busy few years for these boys as they’ve played with everyone from Missy Higgins to James Morrison and had all manner of other musical adventures. But now, it’s back to basics for some seriously pant-spanking jazz.
