Jamie Hutchings: Avalon Cassettes CD Launch

Singer/songwriter, Jamie Hutchings, brings his full ensemble (percussion, bass, guitar, piano and vocals) to celebrate the launch of Avalon Cassettes.

Hutchings’ new CD, Avalon Cassettes (Laughing Outlaw Records) was recorded live to an eight-track cassette recorder in a beachside shack of the suburb Avalon in Northern Sydney. This adds to the album’s mellow reverie full of surreal narratives and evocative raw soundscapes coupled with Hutchings’ signature fretwork.

Described by Mess and Noise as “one of Australia’s most gifted songwriters’’, Hutchings first came to prominence as the front-man for legendary Sydney band, Bluebottle Kiss. He has released three solo albums since, which have landed on many annual ‘best of’ lists and has gained a four-star review from Rolling Stone.
