Kawa
Mon 16 Apr 2012
A successful Auckland M?ori businessman is forced to reveal his lifelong secret.
Following the heartbreaking, sexually charged novel Nights in the Gardens of Spain by award-winning author Witi Ihimaera, Kawa is the story of a family man coming out for the first time in the Maori world.
With a marriage on the rocks, Kawa lives out of a hotel, spending his days at the office and his nights having anonymous sex with men.
Feeling guilty and isolated, Kawa returns to his family where his elderly mother prompts him to reveal his true identity to his family and live with the fallout that follows.
