Award winning German trio shimmers with luminous improvisational colours and originality.

Laia Genc’s material is modern lyrical piano-trio sounds, impulsively groovy and often freely improvised. Laia herself is strong, with energy and flair to match.

Laia Genc, who started up the Liaison Tonique trio in 2004,has won several awards to date, including the prize for best soloist at the Jazz à la Défense competition in Paris and the Cologne Jazz Award for 2007.

Her other awards include the international jazz contest’s Biberacher Jazzpreis, with her trio in 2004 and first prize for Genre Jazz at the Torneo Internationale Della Musica in Rome in 2006.
