Drama
Julia, a pregnant 25-year-old student is sent to prison for a crime she may or may not have committed - the murder of her boyfriend.
Julia doesn’t remember how her boyfriend ended up dead, his lover badly wounded and herself bloodied in her Buenos Aires apartment. Her shock continues when, soon after, she finds herself sent to the penitentiary for murder and gives birth to a son.
The place is chaotic and sometimes brutal, but the women, most of whom are poor and uneducated, still constitute a community. Emotionally shattered and alone, Julia slowly adjusts to motherhood inside prison walls while developing a tender and loving relationship with fellow internee Marta.Julia not only has to fight her wrongful incarceration, but also for her son, Tomas, born inside prison and due to be taken away from her on his fourth birthday.
This classic women-in-prison drama provides a harsh depiction of prison life and the tenderness that can also be found inside.
