Caledonian Theatre Company presents

Macbeth

Wed 30 Mar - Sun 10 Apr 2011

How far would you go to get what you want? What would you be willing to do to satisfy the woman you love?

Shakespeare’s dark, bloody tragedy is about a man who sacrifices his soul to satisfy the woman he loves … and his own ambitions. Spurred by the deceitful promises of the supernatural, hungry for the crown, stirred by love for his beautiful, childless wife and his need to satisfy her longings, Macbeth accepts that murder is the only worthy tribute he can place at her feet. But blood will have blood and it is not so easy to stop killing once you start ….

Shakespeare’s Macbeth is a psychological drama that peers into the hearts and minds of the man and woman who unleash their “deep and dark desires”. The Caledonian Theatre Company’s sparse, close and dark staging places the audience within a warm breath’s distance of the torment suffered by Macbeth and his Queen.

The Caledonian Theatre Company was formed by John Selfridge and Walter Sofronoff to showcase Brisbane's field of talented actors.
