Brisbane-based improvised theatre company Impro Mafia, supported by Brisbane City Council, are bringing the country’s best talent to the Powerhouse’s Visy Theatre. With seven shows on offer across three nights, it’s a smorgasbord for lovers of quick-witted, rapid fire humour. International Grudge Match: See Brisbane's best take on challengers from across the world in a battle of wits and comic timing.
Playback Theatre: A spontaneous re-enactment of stories and moments from the lives of the audience members.
Mr Fish and His Spooky Library of the Impro Macabre (presented by Derek Flores): Mr Fish has spent his life travelling the world in search of the spookiest and most horrifying stories the human mind can muster.
Sat 19 Jul - Program 2
Gorilla Theatre (presented by Edge Improv): Improvisers compete to entertain the audience and win fame, glory, bananas and a date with a gorilla!
You've got the part! (presented by Impro Melbourne): A mock Australian idol contest in which performers audition for the leading role in the very own improvised play.
Tabloid Musical (presented by Impro Australia): The World's first improvised tabloid musical, brought to life right before your very eyes.
Sun 20 Jul - Program 3
Best of the Fest: The best performers from across the festival are brought together for this hilarious and spectacular final night competition where competitors turn audience suggestions into impromptu songs, stories, sketch comedy - even Shakespeare!
