The 12th Annual Brisbane Queer Film Festival
Brisbane Powerhouse presents
Opening Night Film: Spork
Fri 8 + Mon 11 Apr 2011
COMEDY
This frizzy-haired, four-eyed hermaphrodite joins the school talent contest and takes on the mean girls that rule the school.
Just like the utensil, Spork is an oddball who struggles to find her place of belonging. Raised in a trailer park by her older brother and taunted by Betsy Byotch and her crowd of mean girls, Spork tries to go unnoticed. However when her BFF, trailer-park neighbour Tootsie Roll is injured, she can no longer hide. Spork must learn all the 90s booty-popping moves there are to fill Tootsie’s place in the junior talent show.
This colourful and foul-mouthed teen comedy proves that there is hope for every outsider.
