Paolo Pellegrin: As I Was Dying
Tue 5 - Sun 24 Aug 08
Pellegrin’s unique ability to capture humanity amidst the despair and suffering of war cumulates in this remarkable exhibition.
As I Was Dying documents the horror of conflict and the anguish of those innocent victims swept up in events beyond their control. Emotive images record the desperation of the displaced and the terror of those who witness the destruction of their homes and the death of their loved ones.
Featuring 40 photographs from Lebanon, Haiti, Afghanistan and the funeral of Pope John Paul II, As I Was Dying is an unflinching and memorable record of man’s inhumanity to man and explores our response to death.
As I Was Dying is a Magnum Photos Touring Exhibition with assitance of Fotofreo Photography Festival.
NB Exhibition contains images of war and conflict that some individuals may find distressing.
