Brisbane Powerhouse and Brian Lucas present
Performance Anxiety
Tue 9 - Sat 13 Feb 10
BRIAN LUCAS (AUS)
If we’ve never had it so good, why do we feel so bad? Nationally acclaimed performer/choreographer Brian Lucas holds a mirror up to our age of anxiety, revealing reflections which dazzle and provoke.
Dance, movement, physical imagery, voice and sound combine to create this intriguing and confronting dance theatre work.
Lucas draws on personal experience of the particular anxieties which arise when we find ourselves in front of a live audience, and explores the universal parallels that exist between the experiences of the professional performer and the struggle to “perform well” in our day-to-day lives, be it in the bedroom, the boardroom or the supermarket checkout queue.
Performed in an intimate cabaret setting, sit back with a glass of wine and share in the tales of the terminally stressed, the people under pressure and the heroes on their small crusades.
