Richard’s novel Independence Day was awarded the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. He has published seven novels and three collections of stories, including The Sportswriter, Independence Day, Wildlife, A Multitude of Sins, A Piece of My Heart, Rock Springs, The Ultimate Good Luck, Women with Men and The Lay of the Land.
