Rude Mechs Masterclass (USA)

Rude Mechs focus on sharing their processes for collaborative creation and devising new work. This masterclass is a great opportunity to spend time with an ensemble that has been granted over 180 local and national awards and nominations in America.

From generating ideas, to collaborative participation as an actor/writer/director within an ensemble, to creating staging, to deepening your acting ‘presence’ on stage - your relationship with the audience and your kinesthetic connection to your ensemble, this workshop by Austin, Texas’ Rude Mechs will lead participants through every step of building new work from scratch. Participants will learn and combine ideas from Anne Bogart and the SITI Company, Deborah Hay, Eugenio Barba, Frantic Assembly and others with Rudes own spicy Texan techniques to create mini-pieces that are precise, quirky, moving, and highly theatrical.
