Brisbane Powerhouse presents

Technical Theatre Workshops

Thu 21 - Sun 24 Feb 08

FOR BOOKINGS AND ENQUIRIES EMAIL education@brisbanepowerhouse.org

Six technical theatre workshops will provide a unique opportunity for secondary students and teachers to learn the basics of technical theatre production.

Focusing on lighting and audio, these theoretical and practical workshops will provide participants with instruction on the basic principles of technical theatre production, guidance on how to operate equipment, and some of the ‘tricks-of-the-trade’ from qualified industry professionals. Theory lessons will include handouts and each practical workshop is limited to 15 places, so individual attention is assured.

In many schools, teachers and students work as part of a technical team, providing lighting and sound for school events. These workshops will equip individuals with the basic skills to manage their school’s technical equipment in an efficient, safe and professional manner; and to identify when a professional should be employed to deal with technical issues that may arise.

Students may also use the workshops to help inform decisions about possible future career pathways.
