The Audreys: Sometimes the Stars Tour
Sun 31 Oct 2010
Australia's finest alt country roots band The Audreys will be playing new songs from their new album Sometimes The Stars in their very first Powerhouse Theatre show.
It's been a strike rate that is the envy of many musicians - two album releases (Between Last Night and Us in 2006 and When The Flood Comes in 2008) and two ARIA Awards for Best Blues and Roots Album. The Audrey’s have also become a critics’ favourite in Australia with both releases appearing in the best album polls of those years, including Rolling Stones’ top 50 albums of 2008.
They are fronted by the beautiful and enigmatic Taasha Coates and, with song writing partner Tristan Goodall, they have appeared at many Australian festivals including Big Day Out, Falls Festival and Woodford Folk Festival.
If you've seen them before, you will know what all the fuss is about, if not then then the Powerhouse Theatre is as fine a venue as you could hope for as a first time experience. But be quick, their shows have a habit of selling out well in advance!
So come along and hear their new tracks as you never know, they may make it a hat trick.
"Gorgeous" Rolling Stone Australia
"Bewitching, Beguiling. And that's just the vocalist. Dark and other worldly." Exclaim, Toronto. Canada.
"Brilliant, Absolutely Brilliant" Daily Telegraph Sydney.
