Brisbane Powerhouse presents

The Eisteddfod

Wed 10 - Sat 13 Feb 10

BY LALLY KATZ, DIRECTED BY CHRIS KOHN, STUCK PIGS SQUEALING (AUS)

One of the most exciting independent theatre companies in the country, Melbourne-based Stuck Pigs Squealing make their Queensland debut.

This eloquent exploration into the lives of orphaned siblings Abalone and Gerture reveals their innermost fantasies and fears with compelling precision. Battling to win the adulation of the auditorium at the annual Eisteddfod, Abalone is again trying to prove himself the talent his mother believed him to be – but he can’t do it alone.

Chris Kohn’s emphatic theatrical visioning and the poetic writing of Lally Katz combine once again in a witty and highly immersive blurring of real and imaginary worlds.

“magical, memorable and mighty real” Herald Sun

“…writer Lally Kat z’s dark and perversely funny play delves into the realms of sibling co-dependency, wish fulfilment, fantasies and corrupted love… This intricate, involving production stays with you long after you leave the theatre.” Sun Herald, Sydney (June 2007)
