THE WORM SOCIETY is an innovative and exciting new program for children who love books-looking at books, reading books, talking about books.

Bring your child along to this unique gathering of book lovers to read stories, swap ideas and engage in lively conversation and creative activities over a scrumptious afternoon tea - all within the exciting theatres, studios and Graffiti Room at Brisbane Powerhouse.

This Book Club for Kids is designed for middle to upper primary school children, providing opportunities for competent readers looking for further challenges. Kathryn Black, the founder and facilitator, is a highly experienced Primary School Teacher with a special interest in the Literary Arts. Operating from the belief that what we read forms us, Kate is passionate about exposing children to quality literature. Within small groups of approx. six children, Kate employs current strategies to take reading comprehension to a higher level and build confidence with oral language and philosophical discussion.

Starting date Thu 23 Feb, followed by monthly meetings.
