Topology & Karak

Percussion-duo Karak will join Topology to create a formidable mini-orchestra drawing from Japanese, West African, South Indian and classical Western traditions.

Karak and Topology have been working together since their student days, sharing a passion for art music that grooves. Highly virtuosic, the percussion duo and strings-sax-piano quintet combine, delivering their own new compositions plus classics by Steve Reich and Stephen Montague.

Karak’s Kevin Man and Kerryn Joyce are members of the internationally acclaimed ensemble, TaikOz. As Karak, they embrace the full gamut of percussion – marimbas, vibraphones, drums, cajons and much more. In this ground-breaking collaboration, Karak create the perfect complement for Topology’s colourful lineup of saxophone, violin, viola, double bass and piano.
