Brisbane Powerhouse presents
Wholphin - Rare and Unseen Films
Sat 20 Feb + Sat 24 Apr 10
Curated by Dominic Jarvis
The Wholphin Short film Series brings some of the best international short films, animations & documentaries to Brisbane – for free!
The McSweeney’s DVD magazine is now a bi-monthly Brisbane Powerhouse film event, lovingly curated with some of the best short movies, documentaries and uncatergorisable films.
February is a bumper screening of Wholphin, with 3 new Spike Jonze shorts, Dennis Hopper being blown up, an insider’s view of polygamy and a brilliantly musical Japanese robot.
April’s screening include bizarrely warped North Korean propaganda, an excellent Australian outback short, a chic instructional video directed by Gus Van Sant and a heated volleyball match over the US/Mexico border.
If it’s short, sexy and satisfying – it’s at Wholphin. Be sure not to miss some of the rarest and unseen short films to grace Brisbane, and remember – it’s completely free!
“An eclectic but irresistible hodgepodge of cultural ephemera” Rolling Stone Magazine
“A perfect balance between political, social and outright attention-grabbing films” Short Ends Magazine
