Brisbane Powerhouse presents
Wholphin- Rare and Unseen Short Films
Sat 3 Jul + Sat 14 Aug 2010
CURATED BY DOMINIC JARVIS
The Wholphin Short film Series brings some of the best international short films, animations & documentaries to Brisbane – for free!
The McSweeney’s DVD magazine is now a bi-monthly Brisbane Powerhouse film event, lovingly curated with some of the best short movies, documentaries and uncategorisable films.
July’s spectacular Wholphin lineup includes a brilliant Australian zombie apocalypse, featuring Alice in Wonderland starlet Mia Wasikowska as a foul-mouthed beauty. Not to mention a surreally animated exploration of an astronomer’s subconscious and an existential crisis in the Nintendo-pixelated world of Ledo and Ix.
August reveals a revamped piss-take on 90s self-help VHS tapes, stop-start animation of the UK variety, aliens sowing seeds in the desert and a delectable experimental short about tennis balls, dancing cars and God.
Drop by and embrace the rare and unseen delights only Wholphin has to offer!
Wholphin Series has R18+ Classification. Material classified R18+ is legally restricted to adults. Contains adult themes and coarse language.
