Zac Hurren Trio

The Brisbane Jazz Festival wouldn’t be complete without an offering of talented local and national jazz artists on the Turbine Platform, free for everyone to enjoy. 

This year, the platform plays host to Brisbane’s The Zac Hurren Trio; Melbourne’s Nat Bartsch will play in trio format with local Brisbane jazz musicians; and the Louise Denson group brings Afro/Cuban jazz into the mix.

Steeped in the jazz tradition led by John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter and Aussie great Bernie McGann, Zac Hurren has forged a truly unique voice that is spontaneous, lucid and wonderfully alive. Zac’s unmistakable style has seen him perform with the likes of John Hoffman, Dale Barlow, Scott Tinkler and James Morrison, and at Wangaratta Jazz Festival.
